This position is part of the South Carolina Child Care & Resource Referral team of statewide Instructors/Training Coordinators (Quality Coaches) that provides technical assistance and professional development to early childhood programs and collaborates with partner agencies to coordinate services. This home-based position requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to conduct on-site visits to early childhood programs and perform other job duties.

For this position, the selected applicant must obtain two approvals, both from SC Endeavors, within 12 months of employment: (1) Approval as a South Carolina Certified Trainer Credential in all areas of child development (2) Approval as a South Carolina Certified Technical Assistance Provider.

Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Under the direction of the South Carolina Child Care Resource & Referral (SC CCR&R) Community Engagement Manager and in conjunction with the SC CCR&R Director, Outreach Specialist, and Communications Coordinator, the Outreach & Resource Specialist is responsible for promoting SC CCR&R services and related programs to child care programs, families, and the community through outreach efforts.

Responsibilities also include providing information to families to assist in their search for high-quality child care options through referrals, seminars, and outreach events and providing support to early childhood programs to promote types of care and vacancies and to encourage them to engage in services provided through the SC CCR&R.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

The Family Child Care Quality Coach functions as a part of the South Carolina Child Care & Resource Referral team of statewide Instructors/Training Coordinators (Quality Coaches) that provides technical assistance and professional development to early childhood programs and collaborates with partner agencies to coordinate services.
